I am 74 years old and on the 7th March 2009 Mr Laniado carried out Robotic Surgery to removed my prostrate. The operation went well I had five insisions in my

Stomach and a catheter.  When I went back to the ward my family were waiting I felt a bit sleepy but on the whole I had little discomfort.  If operations can be good this is certainly a very good one. I was in hospital for only 2 days and had hardly any pain.  The staff on ward 7 at Wexham Park were first class.  On the 16th on March I again

Had to go over to Wexham Park to have the catheter removed. This was the only bad experience I have had as it was not explained to me that I would be in the hospital for around 6 hours and had to pass water 3 times.  The catheter was removed and I drank water but when I stood up it just came from me without any warning, I was not prepared for this experience and felt quite ashamed.  I feel that I should have been told that this could happen, it happened everytime I stood up and then I needed to wear a pad to collect the urine that escaped from me before I could make it to the toilet.  I have since got a lot better and can now almost control my muscles to hold the urine in until I reach the toilet.  I have since seen Mr Laniado and have been told that the other samples of tissue they removed were all clear as far as they could see.  Thankyou all once again for the exceptional way in which you have treated me and explained so much to myself and my family. I would recommend this procedue to anyone considering surgery on the prostrate. I am almost back to my old self after just one month. A heartfelt thankyou one again to everyone involved.

Hi Mr Brundish,

Thank you for your comments, which I have taken onboard. I hope you continue to have a good recovery.
