Ab Initio Developer
Herndon, VA
6- 18 months project
The candidate who fills
this position will be responsible for documenting an existing production
process from start to finish using the computer code written in Ab Initio as
the source for the analysis.
On a day to day basis, the candidate will be responsible for documenting each
steps in the code, translating the logic into ordinary business terms, looking
up physical data attributes and allowable values and translating them into
logical names, identifying detailed data inputs and outputs at each step,
researching any gaps in existing metadata, and creating detailed flows of the
process that demonstrate how all the parts of the logic work together.
The candidate will also be asked to develop higher level tasks that the logic
accomplishes by looking at the individual parts and identifying their overall
purpose. Time permitting, the candidate may also be responsible for assisting
in the creation of business requirements based on the code analysis that they
perform.
The candidate will be focused on documenting the Property Relational Data
Warehouse - Monthly Load process. However they will also be required to gain a
basic understanding of the source systems and data, which are internal (Fannie
Mae Acquisition Data) and external (Freddie Mac Acquisition data and Sales and
Tax data provided by a third party).
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
Understanding of structured logic, previous experience using Ab Initio (the
language the process is written in), experience with SDLC, flowcharting,
preparing documentation for non technical users of the information, ability to
communicate clearly and concisely.
Ideal background would be an individual who has designed processes in Ab Initio
who is familiar with the functions it performs.
