I uninstalled a program that I thought went with Visual Studio but
apparently MS Office depends upon it. I cannot run MS Office now, nor
can I repair it or even delete it, all using the Office insallation
disk. I always get this error:
Error 1402 : Setup cannot access the
registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft
Windows\currentversion'RunOptionalComponents
\MAIL is not accessible and I should check that I have permission to
access it. My user account has administrator privileges but just to be
sure, I went thorugh the Regedit process to grant myself more
permissions, incluiidng "full control". That did not help.

What do I have to do to get past this error and have the Office
installer able to access the registry keys it wants? Thanks.
