Hello

It happened twice already (on different computers) so I'm asking.

Computer got 2 users: Administrator and Guest (disabled). Today user
turned computer on and logged as usually. It turns out he lost all
files from desktop, my documents, favourities. When he tried to open
Internet Explorer Wizard poped up, same with Outlook Express. When I
looked at Documents and Settings directory I saw that Administrator
directory was renamed to "Administrator.ComputerName" and new
"Administrator" directory was created.

I've copied all documents back, imported e-mails, contacts, etc but...
I want to know why it did happen and if there is a way to make all
this things faster. I think I should not copy all
"Administrator.ComputerName" over the new one.

I got all updates installed.

Please help.

Well, I've got antivirus installed and haven't got any viruses for
like 1-2 years. I don't know about any shuttings down also. User comes
at 7.30 am, turns computer up, leaves at 15.30 and shuts computer
down.

Did you read my post? There's no need to reinstall the system. Also
I'm using 2000, not XP. I've tested hard drive, no errors.
