I am installing a Dishnetwork/Wildblue internet to an IBM laptop with
Windows 2000 professional. I need access to the LAN in Network
Connections but it is missing, all that is there are Dial up
connections. There is an ethernet port on the back of the laptop so I
believer the Network is built in, I just cant find the LAN.

Is there a way to activate the LAN within the system?

The customer doesn't not have any of his original disks, but if I were
to locate a Windows 2000 professional disk is there a way to load LAN
from the disk without reinstalling the entire OS?

Thanks for any help you can provide

Thanks for the help we are going to see if we can find a windows 2000
disk and see if we can get the drivers from that. Otherwise he is
looking at a clean install or a new laptop.
