Instructions:

Each person is responsible for running a Chi-Square Analysis (Sheet 2) on their assigned variable with each of the attitude questions we chose (the last three columns in Sheet 1). Also run chi-squares for your variables with other variables you think are likely to moderate your variable, for example gender and age, marital status and children in the home, age and income status.

Assignments
Age- Maryam
Children- Stephanie
Gender- Manisha and Duaa
Industry- Joseph
Marital Status- Arav
Social Class/Income- Jannel

Notes about the excel sheet:
*These answers are from the primary data post questionnaire.
*Prof. Reed numbered the answers funny, consult the questionnaire pdf to determine what number means what. For example, I think we determined that for marital status 4= married, 5=single, and 6= divorced.
*The chi-square sheet does not have the correct labels for the tables (I copied and pasted it from the first lab day so we didn't have to recreate all those formulae. Just relabel them for your specific variable, it'll probably make your analysis easier.

Ask questions if confused, and fill in anything I forgot

Hello,

So it seems Manisha and I will be working on gender. I was wondering how this will work haha. Should one of us do it, and the other check for Mediating variables or should we do it together....?

:)

Hey Jannel,

Weren't the three questions we chose:

1. I would consider buying a Windows Phone next time I am in the Phone Market. (Q8_6_post)
2. I like the Windows phone OS (Q8_5_post)
3.I think the Windows Phone OS (operating system) is different from any other OS in the market (Q8_1_post)

It seems however that for the Chi-Square spreadsheet you sent us, in sheet one, you chose the first two questions I pointed above, and then for the third you chose: I intend to purchase a device with Windows Phone OS the next time I am in the market for a new phone. (Q8_7_post)

Is this what we decided on, or is it a mistake?

Thanks!
Duaa

Sorry Jannel,

I meant to say that the first and third are correct, but instead of I intend to purchase a device, didn't we decide to go with I like the windows phone OS? I.e. instead of Q8_7, we should be analyzing Q8_5? Because I would consider buying a windows phone, and I intend to purchase are very similar, yet the former may give us more accurate results than the latter.

Correct?

You're correct Duaa (sorry about that!) You should use Q8_1, Q8_5, and Q8_6 Does that sound right?
