2019-04-11 - Platform update

Hello everybody,

we are planning the next platform update. It's not a major one functionality-wise, but it will move us forward significantly.

What will change?

- Winding Tree Index will be moved once again. With the 0.6.0 release, we have introduced the possibility to upgrade the underlying implementation of our Indexes. But in order to actually use it, we need to change the Index addresses once again. That means that the currently existing data will not be available anymore through our deployed tooling (mainly playground-api.windingtree.com and demo-api.windingtree.com). Hopefully though, this will be the last time we need to do this.

- Our data format specifications were separated into specific repositories and we have slightly improved the validation again.

What do I have to do?

- If you have data on Winding Tree, you will have to reupload them to the new WT Index location. The addresses are documented here and you can upload your data there already (with custom reconfigured tooling). The supported data format is still 0.6.x. If you don't have access or capability to run your own tooling, you will be able to upload your data via tooling deployed by us after the platform update happens on 2019-04-11 as you are used to. The blockchain addresses of your hotels will, however, change.

We are sorry for any inconveniences this might cause to you, but using the upgradeable Winding Tree indexes is a necessary step towards better future.

Demo and Playground environments were updated, everything went as expected.

There's still a little bit of work behind the scenes, but you can already use the new versions as you are used to. If you encounter any problems, please let us know here or on gitter.
