two years ago in the spring the whole day was blowing 30 mph and the whole lake was coverd with breaking white caps.  I got off work for the day.  I put on a 4.3 on one of my mistral long boards.  I was out on the lake and after falling in I was trying with all my might to get on and sail.  Some lady was driving by in a mini van and saw me struggling to get up and going.  she stopped dead on Marine avenue and just sat and watched.  Finally I sailed it to the shore completely exhausted and lay down unable to move.  She parked her car and came running over to me. Sir Sir Are you O K?!!!!  Hell yeah lady I'm having the time of my life.  Right now I am just resting.  You're not going back out there again are you?  You damn right I am as soon as I get my energy back and I suggest you not watch if you can't handle it.  She went back to her car and I finally tried again.  I made it all the way across on the first try.  It was exhilarating!. The lady watched from her van in the parking lot and finally left.  George showed up and said I don't know Ted these are extreme conditions.  I said I know.  It has been great.  He said have you been out already? I sais yes for the last two hours.  So he rigged and had no problems handling the wind and the waves.  George was gettin totally airborne and looking so smoothe doing it.  Joel showed up and was able to get some runs in with a 6.5 sail.  I have no idea how he did it.  I had to go down to a 4.0 sail so I could handle it.   This other time I was on CC lake aboaut 2 or 3 years ago and was falling off alot and getting back on and going again and totally enjoying it.  I came in after an hour and some guy came walking up very indignant and said: I hope you know you caused someone to end up in the hospital. I said I am really sorry someone was not healthy enough to watch me do my thing, but you acting like you are all mad and stuff isn't going to stop me going back out there again. If you can't handle watching then I suggest you dont. If you end up having a heart attack then that will be your problem not mine.  If someone has an attack from watching someone else doing something then they were going to have an attack anyway.  Maybe they should have taken better care of themselves and gotten some exercise.  I want to live for 30 more years.  I want to be windsurfing when I'm 84 years old. If I die windsurfing I will die with a monster grin on my face that no one else on earth has ever experienced.   Let's all go windsurfing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny story. You were a toxic and deadly eye sore.

If you guys are really serious about windsurfing in the cold like this on some wicked windy days, would you please let me know! I want to photograph it if you don’t mind. Please keep me in mind for when y’all do this! I bet they would make for some incredible black and whites especially if it a drastically overcast cloudy day! I would totally give up one of my 686 Gaper one piece snowboard suits circa 1984, super awesome neon colors, and it says totally radical on it! I have two. The only problem they are not waterproof, but they are awesome!

Live like a lion, live for the Adventure!
