Hello Everyone,

I ordered a PL Core 6.7 from Coastal Wind Sport in GA on Monday and
received it on Wensesday (Thanks Angus). I was able to take it out to
the local flying field this morning and must say I'm really happy with
it.

I'm on the lower part of the learning curve with power kites so all of
the experts (and there are a lot on this board) please bear with me.

Even though this is my first four line kite with handles, the set up
was very easy and trouble free. The lines even had idiot proof numbers
larkshead knotted to the ends to ensure everything went where it was
supposed to go. The bridles were really light weight but proved to be
plenty strong enough so far. The lines (Orange/Blue) seemed to be of
the best quality I've seen so far (Which is only HQ so far). So
rigging the thing was easy and trouble free even for my current level
of proficiency.

I opted not to bring my buggy because the winds were light at 8-12 mph
and soon discovered that that was a mistake. The dag gone thing shot
right up and I had plenty of pull when diving it about. I was really
impressed with the way such a big (to me) kite would turn on a dime
with a little brake input. It looked beautiful too... (Green/white/
dark green) against the clear, blue, cloudless sky. The pull was
really smooth throughout the window and it was easily parked at the
zenith. The only trouble I had was when I had it up there and the wind
died. It collapsed but I was able to get all the cells refilled prior
to crashing. Best flying experience for me to date.

This thing has opened up a whole new range of buggy/ATB days that
would have otherwise been lost because of light wind and my smaller
kites so I'm really happy!

oh man that sounds fun !!!  did you fly at the athletic fields?  We need to meet out there sometime, as I'd love to see this buggy of yours.  A couple guys from the KC club who went on the OBX trip are into buggies, they sound really fun !!

With your new kite, you are totally ready for SNOW !!  And if you don't have a landboard, more than welcome to try mine out with your kites.

I am now totally itching to get a new foil......this post plus chatting with our new man Tom (he's looking at getting one of the new Hydra trainers from HQ) is making me salivate.....

Tim

Yes Tim, I went out t the Warennton Fields (WAC).

I'd be happy to meet up with you there when ever. Your welcome to try
the buggy. Very easy learning curve. I think most sporting events are
done for the year so it should be free on weekends now.

Looking forward to trying the snowboard out too!
