Highlanders,

It's that time of the year, Boston Marathon course run time! We are planning on Saturday, March 29th as it's three weeks out from the marathon.

Remember you don't have to run the marathon (or want to run the whole 22 miles) to participate in the course runWe often have more people do a combination of running and driving than who run the whole course

For those of you who are new to this event, we meet in Winchester early in the morning (around 6am) and drive out to the Marathon start line. We drive 4 miles down the course where we begin the trek to the finish line. Cars stop about every five miles so you can grab food, water, and anything else you might need (you need to bring whatever you will want along the course).

Please let me know if you:
  1. Would like to participate as a runner and whether you are running all of the course or just a portion
  2. Are able to help out and drive (the people who make this day possible!) and if you are also hoping to do some running
This is always a fun Highlander tradition so hope many of you can join us!

Best,
Carie

Count me in for 22, please!

Working on a driver...  FYI, I've invited my youngest, Lyn, who is running, to run some/all, but she's a long shot.

Hi Carrie!

I can be a driver this year. Would be great if I could also run one segment (5-7 miles) but only if the logistics allow.  I’m running a 5k on the 30th.

Thanks,
Tara

Hi All,

I can not participate in the course run this year, but if anyone is running Boston and fundraising for a charity, please send along the links. I’m happy to support.

Good luck!

Hi all,

Here's what I have so far for runners/drivers (it's not too late to say you want to join us!):

Just running:
Jay
Lyn (maybe)
Maddy C
Tom B.
Carrie

Running/driving:
Tracy - running some (car 1)
Grant - running some
Tara - 5-7 miles
Nedim - 8 miles
Tom M - 15 miles

We will likely want 3 cars as 2 may be a little cozy but depending on car size might work. Nedim and Tara, I'm not sure if either of you are able to be one of the cars. Let me know if you can and how many people you fit.

Best,
Carrie

Thanks for organizing. If possible I would like to run 22 miles if there is space - will be running pretty slow.
