.1978 was a mess but .1987 works well.

Subject says it all, .1978 would not run, AT ALL. HAd to downgrade
back down but once 1987 came out all was working smooth except for
that whole taking over the desktop issue with compiz-fusion.
Win4lin still doesn't play well in console with compiz-fusion. I can
see how it would be problematic with an active session because super
key is start key for windows but once I close that session the super
key control should be released back to the Linux UI without having to
do a reset. Something still not working right there.
Bootup seems to be much quicker in console but seems to have slowed a
bit on floating apps, which don't mess with compiz-fusion at all. Of
course there is no need for super key with in floating apps that I
know of so I am not sure where the problem is. Agina is not a show
stopper just an annoyance if you ever have to go to console sessions
like for system upgrades.
However once the floating app is up and running the speed is great,
much better than the windows install on my laptop, but again that
could be due to hardware differences between to two.
I am anxious to find a Linux that will run on this laptop and do a
better comparison.
Again just my 1/2 cent worth.
Thank for the work and the ability to use my few windows apps that I
have to have to do my work in the safety of Linux, you guys are great.
