Dear Students and Families,

We are excited to share a great local tournament opportunity for our students this spring!

The Pittsburgh Power Open, part of the Kumite Classic martial arts festival, will take place May 16–17, 2026 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. This is a large regional martial arts event that brings together competitors from many schools and styles.

Why Compete?

Participating in tournaments is a valuable experience for students of all levels. Competition helps students:

Build confidence performing in front of judges and spectators
Improve focus, discipline, and mental toughness
Gain experience under pressure
Set personal goals and stay motivated during training
Learn by watching other martial artists perform

Chinese Martial Arts Divisions Available

The tournament includes Chinese Forms and Chinese Weapons divisions. Current listings show these divisions are primarily advanced / Black Belt categories, making this an especially strong opportunity for our more experienced students.
