I was not able to find anything referencing this problem, and so if it
has been discussed, then if someone could just link me to the proper
thread, then I would appreciate it.

We have built out an application which uses the WIM stack to support
the AIM element of our application. We are now seeing a situation
where certain accounts can log in, set their presence as visible,
receive messages, but not send any messages. However, if the same
account logs into AIM Express, AOL IM or a 3rd party IM client, they
are able to send and receive messages at will.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Could it be that certain
accounts are logging in/out too quickly, and they are therefore on
some blacklist?

If this isn't the proper mailing list, and I should bubble up to
OpenAIM, then please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Hi melih,

Thanks for using wimas3! Are you checking the IM_SEND_RESULT event to
see what the status code is? AIM has a sign on/off rate limit as well
as a IM sending rate limit so not sure if you are experiencing any of
those.

Thanks,
Rizwan

Just wanted to send an update to the group. It turns out that when we
added aliasing, it affected the destination
of where the IM was sent, and made it appear as if messages were being
sent into a black hole.

I apologize for the off track e-mail, but thank you for the help as it
helped us isolate what was going on.

Best,
