I hope this is okay to post as a separate topic (I mentioned this in the Akai MPC Live thread).
I created this petition after finding out (and being quite pissed off) that Akai has recently implemented a policy of forcing users to check in via the internet with their servers in order to use the plugins we purchased.
I think you should clarify whether Akai will recognize whether petition signers must own Akai products to be counted or whether this is an ethics based petition in which case people signing it will be recognized for their dissent alone.

In the following guide, we'll show you how to make the most of your authorizations by keeping track of their location and preventing loss. If you experience any errors during this process, be sure to visit our troubleshooting section at the bottom of the guide.
While all of our plugins can be activated through their designated authorizer applications, in some cases it's more efficient to just enter your authorization code directly into the iLok License Manager.
Deactivating a license can come in handy if you need to authorize the software on a new computer and need to free up an authorization. The license can then be transferred to your iLok account and moved onto the new computer or iLok by logging into the iLok License Manager on the new computer. Please note: This process requires an iLok account.
If you authorized your software with the software's authorizer, you may have done this without creating an iLok account. This is perfectly normal, but you'll need to "Take Ownership" of the license to apply it to an iLok account before you can transfer the license to use on multiple computers. To do this:
The good news is that this does not automatically mean that your license cannot be used. If the license has already been redeemed to your iLok account once, it does not need to be redeemed again. As long as you have activations available for the license, you will be able to activate again.
when I start Cubase when plugins are charging, to get to the MPC software (MPC.vst) plugin closes unexpectedly forcing me to restart the cubase, but has restarted again I feel the same. what can I do?
Thank you.
I have the same problem, and got a reply from support saying to un-install the MPC completely(delete MPC.app and the mpc.vst from the Library->Audio->Plugins->VST folder and empty trash), download and install the newest version, and make sure to run and authenticate the MPC in stand-alone mode before opening Cubase.
Start or Restart Cubase 8.5 go to device/plugin manager. go to trash right click on MPC.vst and select put back. Go back to Device /plugin manager and select the rescan once it find the MPC.vst Cubase will crash restart Cubase 8.5 and it might fully load it works for me. Once in awhile you may have to repeat this until either Akai or Sternberg figure out the Issue.
I just had to do a clean install on My iMac pro 27" retina late 2015 because prior it did not work after the clean install this method is now working. I also contacted Steinberg and Akai. Steinberg stated that Akai need to contact them for a working solution it appears Akai as not done so as of yet.
sorry for not getting too in depth with my last post, this is an edit.
i had this issue again installing mpc studio black on a windows 10 pc with cubase.

The easiest way to do this is to just re-load the original Standalone Plugins.xpj file, either from the BROWSER or just drag it from your computer directly into the MPC Software GUI.
Press PLAY START and have a listen to the bass patch. Unlike the previous example, the notes in this patch do not play for as long as you hold down the pads, instead they fade out quite quickly (after approximately 2 seconds).
We previously disabled the effects from our plugin patch as ideally we want to be able to control this kind of thing at the program level. Adding effects to your program is very easy. Make sure your program is assigned to the currently active sequence track and with the channel strip open in MAIN, tap in the INSERTS box to reveal the Inserts window.

This is a very great tutorial, as you always do. I am with you since the late 1990s as I was working round with my 2000XL and I was always reading your tutorials and advices, thank you for that, I really appreciate your work!
Now I am working with an MPC live and some great electric rhode-piano VSTs (often and before your above tutorial only in controler-mode). The given tutorial does not realy work in those cases, because when you working with some rhode plugins, they have those multiple dynamic and velocity levels (as you already mentioned above at the advanced multisamples options!) which bring out different styles of tones, the harder you hit the hammer, guess you know!
I am an owner of your great new MPC-live bible and working around with it, but I can not figure out how to mutisample a rhode plugin as a keygroup covering multiple velocity levels. Can you please give me some advices for that, or even the site in the bible, where I can find informations for that.
I also guess there more MPC heads out there who would really appreciate informations about that.
Maybe you have another of your great templates which covers that problem and provides the oppurtunity to multisample VSTs covering different velocity levels.
Hi, thanks I appreciate the feedback. I am hoping to extend the idea to multiple velocities using multiple tracks and the exploded track export option. If I can work out a good solution I will include it in the next edition of the MPC X/Live Bible.
