The Hampstead Dharma Discussion and Practice Group would like to invite you to join us this Thursday, November 21st for an evening with Julian Keith.  Julian is a research psychologist at UNC-W who is conducting a major investigation of neurofeedback, a process of training the brain using sophisticated electronic feedback equipment.  Although the research is targeted to the treatment of attention deficit disorder, Dr. Keith will be discussing the broader applications of this procedure in training the mind to concentrate and be mindful.  Dr. Keith will also discuss his work with Lobsang Rapgay, a former Buddhist Monk, and now a cognitive scientist at UCLA.  Here is a link to an article and a short audio introduction by Dr. Rapgay. http://dailybruin.com/2011/05/03/research_psychologist_lobsang_rapgay_applies_his_experience_as_former_buddhist_monk_to_his_work_in_c/  Hope you will join us.  We sit for meditation between 6:30 and 7:00.  The discussion will follow the sitting and you are welcome to join us for the discussion only and arrive at 7:00 but please note that silence is observed for the ½ hour before 7:00.  The address is 596 Captain Beam Blvd. Hampstead.  For more information, respond to catheri...@gmail.com
