We are happy to inform the community, that the SIA in conjunction with Gift of the Givers and Caring Women’s Forum ( CWF) will be doing an iftaar feeding programme this Ramadaan by feeding close to 3200 fasting persons daily.
The food will be collected in the ‘Containers’ that have placed at strategic locations in and around Johannesburg. These ‘Containers’ will be cleared by Gift of the Givers, as frequently as will be required.
We, as the Sandton Community have been given the opportunity to have a ‘Container’ placed at the Musjid (Musjid-ud-Duha) to make it easy for us to contribute. The ‘Container’ will be located behind the Musjid Parking Lot in the adjoining property.
The food items that will be collected are:
· Canned foods -
o baked beans,
o tinned fish
· Long Life Milk,
· Rice,
· Flour,
· Samp,
· Oil,
· Mielie Meal
· Fresh Vegetables – carrots, beetroot, onions, sweet potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, potatoes
· Fruits - apples, bananas, oranges, etc.
· Chicken or Mince.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IT HAS BEEN ARRANGED FOR THE SANDTON CONTAINER TO BE CLEARED EVERY FRIDAY AND TUESDAY AT 3.30PM – starting this Friday 27th of July 2012.
WITH THIS IN MIND – IT WOULD BE PREFERABLE IF PERISHABLES, (Fruit, veges and meat products) GET PLACED IN THE CONTAINER ON THE DAY OF PICK UP.
