Hi Willowmere,

On Sunday evening we will be treated to a total lunar eclipse in San Diego. The Moon will rise at 7:30pm, enter full eclipse at 8:30pm and end full eclipse close to 10pm. It looks like the skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow so think clear sky thoughts. This will be the longest lunar eclipse on the west coast this century in a decent viewing time (8pm-11pm). So if you are going to see a lunar eclipse this is about as good as it will get.

Here is an explanation of what will happen

Now in addition to the eclipse, the International Space Station will fly over San Diego tomorrow between 8:22pm and 8:28pm and will be directly overhead and very visible at 8:25pm traveling from the southwest to the northeast.

So I’m planning on being outside around 8:20pm to watch the ISS flyover and then take a look at the eclipse.

Hoping for clear skies!
