Hi everybody,

Passing on this information from the folks at the SF Arts Commission about the Art in Storefronts project.  If you're not familiar with it already, this is a great program that commissions artists to create site-specific installations in vacant storefronts in the Central Market neighborhood.  This particular one takes place this coming May.  Read on for more information, and how to apply.  Please let me know if you plan to apply so I can communicate directly with the SFAC about you!

In other news, my Yuri's Night planning is going well, though I've had one big exhibitor drop out unexpectedly.  If you are, or know of, an artist whose work exemplifies the intersection of technology, science and art, and would be interested in showing at NASA on April 8th, let me know!

Finally, I *may* be curating 5-10 sculptures to decorate the course of the SF Marathon on July 31st ... it's solid yet, but keep that in mind.

Oh, and if you're in SF this month, check out my friend Shrine's show at Project One Gallery ... it's really cool.  Thanks ... and hope you're all well.

-Will

Hi Will,

I wanted to see if you could help us get the word out about the posting of the guidelines for Art in Storefronts. Applicants need to be SF-based. Also, as mentioned we have an application workshop on 2/16. I'm pasting info below:

After successfully launching Art in Storefronts in five neighborhoods in its pilot year, the Arts Commission will reprise this innovative program in the Central Market neighborhood in May 2011, adding another layer of art activity to The ARTery ProjectThe deadline for submissions is Monday, March 7 at 5:00 p.m. Click here to download the application.

An application workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the luggage store, an Art in Storefronts community partner, located at 1007 Market Street.

Thank you.
