Taxonomy updates

Hello, 

How much time should we expect before the WI taxonomy is updated with requests?

I submitted several requests on November 4 but they don't seem to be available in the species list yet. 

Also, I'm curious why taxons in the reference databases used by WI are not available by default: why do they have to be manually added?

Hi Yvan, 

We try to update the taxonomy weekly. However, this past month we have been doing maintenance of the platform, so the updates on taxonomy have been backlogged. We will verify and update the taxonomy soon.

There is no need to resubmit the taxonomy requests I made back in early November, correct?

That's right - there's no need to resubmit requests made earlier this year. We're also checking into the latest taxonomy updates to ensure you can apply the IDs to images in Wildlife Insights.

Siobhan - if you'd like to remove yourself from the group you can follow the directions at the bottom of the email.

Hi Nicole, 

I just want to confirm that the taxonomy updates are still NOT available to tag images in WI: the species newly added into the database (for example Geotrygon leucometopia https://wildlifeinsights-taxonomy-ewutmovdfa-uc.a.run.app/) do not show up in the dropdown list on app.wildlifeinsights.org/.
