Hi,

I'm not quite sure if this is a bug or a taxonomy request: the bird species Greater Antillean Bullfinch (Melopyrrha violacea) doesn't appear as a taxonomy option although it is listed on eBird (and affiliated Birds of the World). It synonym Loxigilla violacea (same species but previously was under a different genus) is not available either. This is a common species in the Antilles.

Regards,
Yvan

After reading a bit more (I should probably have started with that...), I understand that not all the species that are in WI's taxonomy references (e.g. BirdLife, or eBird) are actually in WI's own taxonomy list. I thought that WI's own list de facto included all the species in the reference lists.

I will make taxonomy requests.

Hi Yvan,

Thanks for following up on that - and yes, this sounds like a Taxonomy Request! Here are more details about our taxonomy for future reference.
