Hi fungi-folk,
I saw this fungus while looking for birds to photograph at Inskip Pt near Fraser Island, Queensland,
Australia a few days ago.
Being geared up for bird-photography, the lens I was using was not really suitable for close-up work
so the result is, perhaps, only just adequate.
(I was just too lazy to go back to the car and get the 'good' gear! And, of course, I am now
regretting it.)
As far as I can assertain, this is possibly a form of Trametes from the polypores group.
Does anyone have more information?
Cheers
Bob Inglis
