Hi,
We are observing following errors while starting the Wildfly 25.0.1 in java11, but the same is not observed in Java8.

ERROR: The LogManager accessed before the "java.util.logging.manager" system property was set to "org.jboss.logmanager.LogManager". Results may be unexpected.

Can you please let us know if this is an expected one?

Are you using an agent in the JAVA_OPTS?

Can you paste the logs? Or at least just the beginning of them when WildFly starts?

Hi Surya!
Have you got a solution for your problem? The same appears for me with WildFly-27.0.1.Final.
Regards, Rainer

Hi Rainer,
We are not observing this issue in latest version of Java/WF. Might be specific to some versions of Java.

These is the output when starting WildFly - as you can see, the error also appears with WildFly-26.1.2.Final:

Do you want my standalone.xml also?

My assumption is that something with those SSL settings is triggering a logger to be created before the log manager is set. The SSL setup should likely be happening in the elytron subsystem instead of via the JAVA_OPTS.

OK - I'll give it a try!

@James Perkins:

The error messages only appears when starting WildFly from my IntelliJ IDE!

Starting WildFly from Windows command line does not show this message on stdout!

This is the output of IntelliJ when starting WildFly and probably the agent is the problem why the ERROR message is written to stdout:

D:\AppServer\wildfly-26.1.2.Final\bin\standalone.bat
C:\Java\jdk-11.0.13+8\bin\java.exe -Dfile.encoding=windows-1252 -classpath C:\Users\rhochreiter1\AppData\Local\Temp\classpath1974639865.jar com.intellij.javaee.oss.process.JavaeeProcess 63537 com.intellij.javaee.oss.jboss.agent.WildFly11Agent
Detected server admin port: 9990
Detected server http port: 8080

I will not further investigate this, because this appears only in development environment and not in production environment!
