How to ParticipateThe Neighborhood Trees Campaign is a citizen science activity scheduled to start from Earth Day (22nd April) until 30th April. Here's how you can participate.
Identify TreesA community of more than 1200 users comprising experts and enthusiasts help identify the uploaded trees and curate data. Over 90% of the 12,000 trees uploaded have been identified. If you are knowledgeble on tree identification you too can help. Annotate TraitsExaming images of the trees, any participating user can now annotate observations with traits such as flowering, fruiting, shedding or new leaves. This information will help in understanding the seasonality (Phenology) of tree species. Why?TreesIndia is envisioned to bring people from all walks of life to contribute and build a vibrant virtual community to document the natural and cultural history of all the trees in India. It enlists your participation to create a descriptive page for every tree species in India and aggregate information on their morphology, distribution and seasonality. Every observation that is uploaded and identified through the campaign will help towards this objective. ![]() |
