INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN OUTREACH WORKER?

Berkeley Builds Capacity is currently recruiting volunteers to promote HIV testing and safer sex! http://bit.ly/bbcvolunteer

Berkeley Builds Capacity is a collaboration between Berkeley Free Clinic and the University Health Services at UC Berkeley. Together, we aim to improve access to HIV testing and services coordination, and reduce related substance abuse amongst 18-24 year olds in the East Bay, specifically we are focused on Men who have sex with Men (MSM) and communities of color.

Who is an outreach worker?

Outreach workers listen, educate, and help people get the information they need to take care of their health. Our outreach workers will enter a wide variety of settings to link community members to HIV testing, services, and safer sex information.

What will you get out of this?
- Empower yourself and your community
- Increase awareness of safer sex in your community
- Increase your own knowledge and confidence
- Relevant job skills: presentation, community building, facilitation
- Opportunities for development, including training as an HIV test counselor.

Come volunteer with us! For the application and more information about the project, and our selection process check out this link -- http://bit.ly/bbcvolunteer
