First, Happy Birthday Eva.  I loved our weekend together.  You are a very smart young woman and you are very nice too.   Come and see me again.  Six is a really good age.

Attached is my frustrations over this disease which has not really upended my life.  That in itself is an embarrassment.  However, being very old, I am apparently in a high risk category.  I don’t feel that way.  I don’t really expect any of you to sit down and take time from your many other things to deal with my questions, but I figured in a family of Many Docs, some of you would know which articles I should read to help me make sense of all of this.  I love you guys, stay safe and lets hope for a moment together this summer.

I was fascinated by Hugh’s notes - though I don’t pretend I fully understood all of them.  It also made me think how wonderful it is to be part of a widespread family web with so many connections to the world of medicine, health and science.
For example:  work on allergies, infectious diseases,HIVaids, transplant surgery PLUS psychiatry, vaccines, epidemiology, clinical psychology, mental health, health service IT, child health etc etc etc.

On that note, here is a piece I wrote about how communities are building local sustainable resilience in response to this crises. There are many inspiring examples of citizen volunteer efforts.
