Lisa Elvin-Staltari made one of her Filles de Roi YouTube episodes about her: https://youtu.be/5M8Kn-LlBAQ. It breathes life into her story. Roussel came to my attention because of the Louisiana connection. Her grand-daughter, Marguerite Trepagnier https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Trepagnier-9 may have been the "owner" (Is there a less cringy way to say this?) of Noel Carriere https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Carriere-1270.
Noel comes to attention in this 250th year of the US founding because he was a Revolutionary War soldier.
And because there seem to be two Noel Carrieres in this household -- a black one and a white one. And, if we've extrapolated accurately from records found thus far, they are not half-brothers, but two kids from the same household in the same time period given the same name.
Which seems to be a typical French-Canadian thing to do.
