Wikipedia Dump

Hi,

I'm wondering if you could confirm the current size of the latest
wikipedia dump?

I downloaded the latest version of the app (2.0.1), and when I tried
to start it, it started doing another download, but it was already
about 80% complete. It completed the download after a while, but I'm
wondering if it was necessary. From another thread, I've seen that
the last 15% of the download needs to be completed without a break, so
I'm wondering if it has simply downloaded that proportion again.

The reason I ask is that it has now taken up all the free space I had
left available on my phone, and leaves the dump at about 2.58 GB.
I've an 8GB iPhone, and this is too much.

If it should still be around the 2-2.2 GB mark, can I simply do
another download without paying again? I get the feeling if I remove
the app and download again, I'll probably have to pay again.

P.S. the crashing I noticed previously seems to have stopped, so that
is good news.

Hm...I'll have to look into that. I don't *think* it should be that
large. But 2.0.1 removed the problem of having an uninterrupted
download during the last 15% - you may have had to download a portion
of the dump that didn't download when you updated to 2.0, but it would
not be *added* to your dump as extra data. My guess is that your first
download of the updated dump wasn't actually finished but you didn't
realize it because you never tried to open an article that caused a
crash. Now you've downloaded the missing bits (that you didn't know
were missing.)

If you want to try another download you can; as long as you use the
same iTunes account you used originally, you won't be paying again.
iTunes will report that you've already bought the app and you won't
pay twice.

I was able to confirm that the dump is indeed 2.6GB. I know it's
large, but the Wikipedia grows very rapidly - and compression can only
do so much!
