Age Appropriate / Children Friendly / General / No Objectionable material in the dump?

Hi there..

Wondering if my young child could use this wikipedia dump? Does it
only contain only "family friendly" articles? Obviously its a vague
statement but of course it can't contain sex, drugs, horror, "modern"
violence or offensive language to fir within that kind of
description..

Does anyone know?

If it does contain inappropriate stuff, is there a good way of getting
a kids friendly wikipedia onto the iPod/iPhone or another encyclopedia
for children/kids, anyone knows?

Interesting question, Daniel. Our app contains the entire Wikipedia,
so anything you find objectionable in there is going to be in our
app's database. No pictures, of course. So I imagine there is a lot
that could be termed objectionable or non-child-friendly. And I can't
think of a way for us to exclude it, either, as our database relies on
what Wikipedia releases as a data dump (we then use our proprietary
algorithms and geek magic dust to make it so small) - and Wikipedia
does not release a filtered database to the public based on this sort
of criteria.
