This group gets too much spam

I don't know about everyone else, but there is a serious amount of
spam going on in this group. Is there a way to restrict who can join
or create a new group. Something needs to be done. I'm tempted to
leave because I can no longer tell when there is something useful or
interesting being posted. Given the level of activity I imagine that
won't change particularly soon.

Good point -- I hadn't noticed, since Gmail automatically put it in my
spam folder.

I've deleted all of the messages, and banned the users.
