Is WikiJournal of Science still allive?

Hello everyone,

I've been thinking on update a couple articles in Wikipedia through the
WikiJournal of Science's workflow and, if that works, maybe send an
original research. I love the idea of this extremely open for all
approach and I think that's what current science needs. Nonetheless, the
project seems a bit dead without any new publication since January 2024.

Hi Juanma,

I think this is a less-monitored mailing list so you may not have gotten response. 

I'm not quite sure where you got the information that the project hasn't had any new publications since January 2024. We published 6 articles in 2024 and 1 in 2025. The drop in publication rate this year was partly due to my busyness as well as the reduction in funding from WMF which led to the termination of our only paid staff in the organization and ending the contracts for our technical editors. This unfortunately led to a large delay in processing submissions and wrapping up the work after an editorial decision was made.

Hi Andrew,

thank you for your response. My trouble was that, at the date I sent the e-mail, the wasn't any publication for 2025; so I didn't know if the project was alive. Nonetheless, it is true I don't know how to check if there's some ongoing revision. I will gladly apply for editor or associate editor (let's start here) in the future if that can smooth the things, but at the moment I don't have much scientific experience and I feel I will be more a hidrance than a help. In fact, I don't know yet how to publish in the WikiJournal of Science but, as I know now it still working, I wills end something next year; probably by June.

Also, if you need reviewers, feel free to send me any work about remote sensing, GIS, agronomy, ecology or desertification. I will glad to lend a hand.
