Greetings Folks,

I hope you're well.

I hope I'm counting correctly. We have now reached the minimum of 25 peer-reviewed articles required for PubMed Central indexing:

  1. A minimum of 25 peer reviewed articles (e.g., original research or review articles, clinical case reports) must be published in final form.

Kindest regards,
Gwinyai

Can we proceed with application?

Hi Michaël, Olatunde and All

I hope you're well.

I am not sure how PubMed Central classifies articles as reviews or otherwise. Perhaps if you could confirm that we have indeed reached the minimum number. Then maybe we can apply.

Kindest regards,
Gwinyai

I've counted at least 26 articles that are not images, editorials etc.
So yes, I think we meet the criteria.
There are some "publisher" requirements too; we need to make a strong case that we also constitute a publisher.
Someone with more technical background willing to start the application process?

Thank you Michaël for your help.
Yes, it would seem that the publisher starts and is central to the application process - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/about/guidelines/
Perhaps Thomas as the Chair or Mikael as Editor-in-Chief could begin the process?

Kindest regards,
Gwinyai

FYI - That Policy page [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/about/guidelines/] references the NLM Collection Development Guidelines, hyperlinked to the PubReader version. I found the PDF version easier to read and comprehend.

Here is the current application form draft responses.

Could those interested skim read this week? I'll also do a check this weekend and submit on Monday.

All the best,
Thomas

Looks good to me. Perhaps one or two updates regarding current affiliations e.g. Mikael. (It seems the figure galleries aren't counted by PubMed Central - fingers crossed about reaching the threshold).

Many thanks.

Kindest regards,

I made two edits and added some contextual information, all in the "Publisher information" section.

Old: The publisher (the WikiJournal User Group) is an affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation (who host Wikipedia), however are fully editorially independent.
New: The journal publisher, WikiJournal User Group, is a Wikimedia Foundation affiliate, but we enjoy complete editorial independence.

Old: Note, we do not organise in this particular way. Should we specify, or list examples as "Editorial board member".
New: We are a not-for-profit organisation. We are all volunteers. Our key leaders are as follows.

New content. Rationale: The National Library of Medicine staff probably do not understand Wikimedia terminology. Therefore, providing brief definitions and links to further information will save them time finding information, and will quickly boost comprehension.

What is the URL for the WikiJournal User Group? → https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiJournal_User_Group
What is the Wikimedia Foundation? → https://wikimediafoundation.org/about/
What is the Wikimedia 'movement'? → https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_movement
What are the Wikimedia movement's three affiliate models? → https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_movement_affiliates/Models
What is a User group? → https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_movement_affiliates/Frequently_asked_questions#What_are_Wikimedia_user_groups?
