Hi all,

I thought I'd send a quick email with a couple of ideas for WikiJHum this year:
  1. Invite high-quality submissions for articles
    • e.g. Invite submission of existing high quality wikipedia articles, e.g. recent FAs
    • e.g.  Invite submissions on topics that are currently missing or stubs
    • WikiJSci intends to put out its first issue in a month or two (article pipeline)
  2. Invite application of additional editors to help start up the journal
Also, here's an article I just came across that may be of interest to this group:

Haslam, Thomas J. "Wikipedia and the Humanities in Higher Education: Past Time to Renegotiate the Relationship." International Journal of Information and Education Technology 7.4 (2017): 246

All the best,
Thomas

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestions and the article, which I look forward to reading.

Perhaps there is an agreed procedure posted somewhere which I have failed to spot (apologies and please point me to it if so) but are we ready to start inviting articles for WikiJHum or are more preparations needed? If the former, I'll get started.

Best wishes,

Eystein

Hi,

I believe that the journal is now set up to start inviting articles. I can help with the technical side whilst things get going, but will generally absent myself from editorial decisions, since its beyond my knowledge scope.

I've adapted across the editorial guidelines from WikiJMed. Here is the relevant section on inviting submissions, which includes template example emails that can be sent.

All the best,
Thomas
