Hello, fellow members of the WikiJournal of Humanities editorial board.
I
write to you today with a call for help. We have had very little
involvement of the board in the outstanding articles and we have failed
to see anything through to publication this year.
Additionally,
a key member of the team has had to resign due to other commitments,
and I, too, will need to step away at the end of the calendar year due
to work and family commitments. For the journal to survive and thrive,
we will need to have an active board and others to step into leadership.
Immediately, help is needed from the board to
- look into the articles in process to check on status
- contact the authors of long delayed articles to see if still interested in moving forward
- coordinate a process to move these articles forward
- find and contact peer review candidate
I
invite you all to attend the next Wiki Journal group meeting on
Wednesday, October 5. There are two meetings that day, one in the
morning and evening, to better help with the various time zones we are
all in. Stay tuned to your email for more details and links to online
conferencing. If you can not attend that meeting, meetings are regularly
scheduled on the first Wednesday of every month.

Saint Mary’s College of California sits on the ancestral, traditional lands of the Saclan (Sacalanes) people, whose descendants are now organizing into the Muwekma Ohlone tribe. I personally support rematriation efforts through giving shuumi, and I encourage others to learn more via Sogorea Te’ Land Trust.
