WikiHouse (Office/Studio) Malaysia

Hey guys,

I'm planning to build the Studio version here in Malaysia. I'll probably gonna do some changes to it tho as I need to redesign a toilet add on as well as an air-conditioning component to the existing design.

I'll probably post some updates here after I do some stuff to it. Any help or design guidelines would help :D

Hey Shukry,

Great to hear you are getting started! We are about to release designs for a build we are doing in August. It is a complete house with 2 stories and facilities. Should be up in about 2 weeks. It is also using the latest building language WikiHouse v4.2 which will decrease the amount of material you need and cutting time.

it's a derivation from the Studio Wikihouse. I've modified it to my preferences. I think I'll release them here if anyone need it (just in case)

found this thread when I was searching for Wikihouse malaysia to see if anyone here in Malaysia has explored or experimented with building an actual wikihouse. Nice to see there is! 

Wondering if you have managed to build it already?

I'm interested in exploring the wikihouse system myself, and seeing the potential and plausibility of building them in our malaysian context.

Hi Ben and Shukri,

I am in India, building a WikiHouse in a month's time. waiting for the local structural guys to get back with their approvals. Have you been able to figure out a local method of waterproofing the plywood? Since Tyvek is expensive to source in remote locations. I also fear it might not perform so well for tropical climates.

Hey Ben,

Love what you guys are doing. Was thinking integrating wikihouse with the Malaysian context as well.

I actually have the files with me. Haven't managed to do anything yet with it with limited resource. 

The Issues that I think that might occur:

• Wood Warping
• Heat
• Machining cost

If we can solve all the problems, it's possible to build a prototype. :D

Any chance you found/know any CNC cutting services around Malaysia that would suit wikihouse system (4x8 plywood/osb materials)
