I've moved all old wiki talk pages >1500 characters to archives;
shorter pages will be shown in the "header" area of an LQT page. You
can still archive those, either by copy & pasting, or by going through
http://wikieducator.org/Special:Movepage - I generally follow the
[[/Archive]] pattern.
Remember, this is still beta (perhaps alpha) software, so please
expect things to break. :-) You can report problems on
http://wikieducator.org/LiquidThreads , or directly on this list.
We'll document some of the new features on the above page as well.

Having a lot of fun playing with LQT and have had good feedback from
folk I've been showing in face-to-face situations. Great technology!
In the early days of the development there was discussion about an
archiving feature where a user could write a short summary of the
discussions and then archive the threads. Has this been implemented?
(I understand that the threads on WikiEd have not reached the
specified number of day's for archiving yet.)
Just curious ...
I also posted one or two ideas about navigation - particularly links
back to the main article page to which the thread and/or reply
relates.
See: http://www.wikieducator.org/Thread:Navigation_thoughts_and_behaviour_when_not_logged_in_%281%29
Pretty cool that each post has its own ID for referencing purposes!
Chat to you soon.

Yes, it's set to 14 days right now.

Those are good suggestions. I definitely agree that the granularity of
threads still can make them a bit confusing to navigate.
We'll try to focus on mission-critical bugs for now if that's OK (I
count incorrectly recorded or displayed histories among that), and
getting the code into a maintainable and easy to deploy shape, though
I'll see if we can have a few small navigation improvements. As I
understand we have funding for another two weeks. I'll have a chat
with the Wikia folks to see if they have an interest in deployment and
further improvements.
Yip, we have COL based funding for an additional 2 week's coding work,
then I'm afraid my budget on this project has run out :-(.
I agree that we should prioritise major bugs and getting the history
issues sorted. It would be nice if we can implement minor navigation
improvements. Also, improving the message displayed to users who are
not logged in (see Phsi's comment). I was also thinking that the
message that "You need to be logged in to post to the dissusion" in a
different colour would be helpful.
Looks like I'm developing geek habits being up so late :-).
OK, I'll see what we can do, but we have to prioritize. I'm sure lots
of small requests like this will come in over the next few days, but I
also still expect some major bugs here and there.
For the future of the extension, including its maintainability on
WikiEducator, I consider it essential to separate it into a proper
module (which it currently is not - it's essentially a hacked version
of MediaWiki _with_ a module). Otherwise our code will start getting
out of date quickly, and we'll have a really hard time upgrading
MediaWiki. So I'd like to reserve a week's time for that.
Perhaps you have some contacts to open source developers who could
also help improve the extension in the coming months?
Separating this into a proper module is a very high priority.
Maintainability is more important than feature tweaks.
Always looking for developers who can improve MW features <smile>.
Cheers
Wayne
