Hi Everyone,

We're making great progress -- thank you to all who have provided feedback and who are watching and thinking about these pages carefully.

Good news -- the hold on our 3rd party media resolution is lifted :-).  It's great to see all the debate taking place on one (albeit a rather long) page. From the Chair, I thank you for you for helping me maintaining meeting procedure.

So here are our next steps:

Review current alternatives for 3rd party media -- Any improvements needed?

The decision relating to the embedding of 3rd party media is arguably the most important decision in the history of WikiEducator because this relates to the core values of democracy and freedom of speech. Therefore, I encourage every member of Council to think carefully about all the issues as you exercise your professional judgment in helping WE make the best decision we can.

I have inserted a few questions for members of council to think about at the top of the Straw Dog 3 page for you to consider before reviewing the options. I have also posted clarifications on procedural related matters with reference to calling the vote on the motion for embedding 3rd party media.

Motion to adjourn the meeting

I would like to entertain a motion to adjourn the meeting by the close of business this Friday.  Its important to have a deadline to focus our energies on achieving the output. Given our progress so far, I'm optimistic that we will meet our targets. If not, I think we should accept that we may have taken on too much and we need to expend more effort and time. The decision is yours.

Would somebody consider tabling the motion?

I'm amazed by the level of commitment of our Council -- important decisions attract very high voting polls (eg 95% in the case of nominated members.). If anyone was worried about diversity or group think -- take a look at our meeting discussions and voting on important issues. This is a sign of a healthy governance team.

It takes courage to place your name against a vote for the whole Internet to see, recorded in perpetuity. On behalf of WikiEducators around the world, I thank you for this level of service to our Community.

I'll see you in the wiki.

Cheers
Wayne

In the spirit of wanting to adjourn this meeting by Friday... I'm
thinking we have two motions regarding the third party media. See WE
page;
http://wikieducator.org/WikiEducator:Community_Council/Meetings/Third#Active:_Please_Discuss_and_Vote

How should we break this up so it can be voted upon and put to rest
(for now ;)
