View refreshing problem on macOS High Sierra

I'm trying to install the Wikidpad app on macOS High Sierra following these simple official instructions. After installing everything needed, as indicated, I move from the terminal to the folder where the software sources are contained and I write:

python WikidPad.py

obtaining in terminal:

The app starts, but the view does not refresh when I interact with her. To see changes I have to resize the window of the app. In this way, the app is unusable. What could cause this refresh problem, and how can I solve it?

perhaps you need to use pythonw instead of python?
