Annual End of Summer Party

You are INVITED to the 36th (we think) annual Grape & Ice Cream Party

SATURDAY, September 1st - 5 PM till ???

We had LOTS OF GRAPES ON OUR VINE THIS YEAR!!!

To celebrate, we're having our annual end of summer potluck party
next Saturday starting around 5 pm.

From 1976 -- when Stanley first bought the house on Poplar Street
(and I wasn't even born yet) the whole block was COVERED in
grapevines -- we used to do this as a grape harvest and wine making
party.

Since we moved to the new house 8 years ago, we've been babying the
grapevines we brought along, and planting new ones. This year we had
July grapes, and lots of August grapes -- and then LOTS OF ROBINS ate
all the grapes, so it looks like we have to be creative and fake it
one more year. BUT--I'm planning to start a batch of peach wine, so
you're welcome to witness that and we might buy a bushel of grapes,
too.

This is a potluck, so feel free to bring something good (but don't
let that keep you from coming) & bring friends and family.

Kids are welcome, we're test-driving some semi-defective tents, AND
of course we'll be making ice cream and tending the campfire.

We'll have the grill going and several cases of beer on ice. We'll
move inside or hole up on the porch if it rains.

As you might recall, we live on 10th Street, just above 66th Avenue.
