One of the reasons for starting Wikidelphia was to find out about
events and activities that would otherwise escape my attention.
The recent activity around Philly Tech Week led me to a panel
discussion at the Inquirer featuring Stephen Tang, President of
the University City Science Center and Roseann
Rosenthal, President of the Southeastern PA Ben Franklin
Technology Partners.
The conversation. led by Gregory Osberg, the new CEO of
Philadelphia Media Holdings the owners of the Inquirer and Daily News,
on "Technology Priorities" in Philadelphia, primarily
focused on issues around innovation in technology and keeping the
talent from slipping away. I was glad to hear much of what was said.
There are hopeful signs coming from City leaders and business leaders
that Philadelphia has an important role to play in the future of
technology.
But, I'm still looking for how this will serve the majority of
people in the City. So, today I quiried the Philly Custom Search tool
with the word "innovation."
The number one hit was the Philadelphia Social Innovations
Journal. That sounded good. So I made a page for it on
Wikidelphia.
Take a look:
