Hi,

Can I use Wikibrain as part of my Text Analytics Suite? I read the Licensing is Apache v2, but is it for non-commericial, research purposes only or can I include it? I will be using mainly for the semantic similarity computation between two concepts. If there are any licensing costs, please do let me know about them.

I would also like to know on the Licensing terms of Wikipedia as text corpus.

Thanks,
Sai

Hi Sai,

Thanks for asking! There are no licensing costs for WikiBrain itself. Of course, you are responsible for determining the licensing conditions for the third-party libraries WikiBrain depends upon.

Hi Shilad,

Thanks for replying!

Kindly elaborate on the 3rd party libraries that you mentioned. I am mainly interested in Milne's semantic similarity measure, I sent a separate mail to him and he was fine with using Wikipedia miner. Assuming that the same algorithm is present in wikibrain, am I permitted to use?

Thanks

,
Sai

Hi Sai,

WikiBrain depends on dozens of third-party libraries, each with its own licensing.
