I've used version 2.08 on my LG Optimus G at home and its switches between my three AP flawlessly.

At work, where I'm in a sea of AP's (I can routinely see 6-12 AP's from any location) the phone looses its WIFI connection and I have to reboot, or reenter my password to reconnect to WIFI.

Some observations:
 - If I stay still and work in one spot the phone statys connected to the same AP and everything is fine.
 - If I move around I see if moving from one AP to another.
 - If I move into the cement stairwell, or the corners of the LABs where WIFI is known to be weak I loose WIFI access and returning to an area with stronger WIFI does not allow me to reconnect.
 - once I've lost WIFI, going into the app and selecting Android Wifi Settings to choose a Wifi network to connect to shows the my network with a stong setting but its listed as Disconnected. clicking on it gives me the option to cancel or forget, no option to connect. A long press lets me edit, doing that and reentering my password restores the connection.
- If I go into the app and turn on Info so I can see the details on the visible AP's, when I enter an area with no available APs, the info displayed is a list of all the details on my saved networks, not the list of AP and their strengths. If I reenter an area with APs this info doesn't return to the list of APs, it remains a list of saved APs.

At home I uses WPA2 PSK security on three consumer grade APs.
At work they use 802.1x EAP. I suspect this might have something to do with it, but it could have nothing to do with it.... At work, if I stick to ares with lots of APs it seems to work... ie it switches between them, its just entering a dead area that kills it...

Any ideas?

Daryl

Does the beta version work if you change the "Connection Method" in settings?

I installed the beta version today (version 2.11) and set it to mode 1. I went for a walk and after my walk, my phone was disconnected and unable to rejoin the wifi network (same issues I had before). I manually reconnected and switched to mode 2, and repeated the same walk and this time it remained connected.I watched as it switched AP 5 times with no issues. I will keep an eye on it for the next few days and try mode 3 to see if it too works. I will also make sure its still working well at home (mode 1 had no issues at home).

Can you post some details on the difference between the three modes? If I have a choice between mode 2 and 3, which is preferable (battery wise)?

thanks,
Daryl

There is no difference for battery consumption between the three modes. The modes determine how the phone connects to the AP. Many phones only work in mode 1, but some may work better in mode 2 or 3 - it depends on the design of the phone.
