Wifi Roaming Fix is designed to solve problems in the Samsung Galaxy
Nexus (and phones with the same chipset), and is not guaranteed to work
on other devices.
If you have problems and can't find a solution in this forum, we suggest you try the beta version.
Here are some suggestions of what you can do:
1.
Look in the info screen, and see what time the app was started. The
time it shows should be when the app was first run. You can look at this
to see if Android closes the app - when the app reopens it shows a
later time.
2. In the Android settings, long press the network
name to "forget settings". Then reconnect to the network (you may have
to retype the password).
3. Try Settings->Device specific->Connection method. The default is 1, so try 2 or 3.
4.
Try Settings->Device specific->Scan Period. Normally it is 5
seconds, but if you try 10 or longer, in some mobiles it may save
battery power and increase transmission speed.
5. If you have installed other Wifi apps, make sure they are not running.
6. Make sure your APs are not overlapping - see
http://www.heleron.com/1/post/2013/07/avoid-overlapping-channels.html7. Be aware that on some mobile phones wifi apps appear to consume much more power than they really do. See the blog:
Fooled by battery percentages8. Try a different Android device. If neither device works, it might be a network configuration problem!
