Hi, I work at a land trust in Orange County and we are interested in
historic land cover for the lands we manage.

Can someone advise me on the status of the Weislander map digitization
being conducted at Davis? Are there products available now somewhere
(apart from the rasters and plots available through vtm.berkeley.edu/
data)? If not, is there an expected date for when will they be
available? Looking for georeferenced shapefiles of the Weislander
scans for Orange County (Corona 177, Redondo 177b and Santa Ana 177c)
if they exist.

Likewise, can someone tell me how the Davis product differs/will
differ from the Bureau of Reclamation product? (described here)

Thanks very much,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Sorry for the very late reply. The person you're looking for is Jim
Thorne at UC Davis. His group has been in charge of digitizing the
vegetation maps in the VTM collection, so he'd be the one to talk to
about them. To date, they haven't sent us any more than a quad or two
of veg map polygons, and no finished quads for use on the website.
You can find Jim's contact info on his website:

Hope this helps.
