Just like other Samsung flagship smartphones it also comes in two different chipset variants. One with Exynos Chipset and another with Snapdragon chipset. And rooting Exynos powered Note 9 is easier because the bootloader can be unlocked easily. But in Snapdragon powered Note 9 only the SM-N9600 can be rooted as it comes as an unlocked bootloader by default. The other Snapdragon model SM-N960U is not possible to root.
Rooting any of these devices is a three-step process. First, you will need to install a custom recovery like TWRP recovery. This would enable you to flash custom binaries, commonly known as flashable ZIPs. The next step is to disable encryption and prevent Paranormal/RMM State by flashing the no-verity zip and RMM State Bypass zip files. And finally, you can root the device by flashing the latest Magisk zip.
After the flashing process is complete, the phone shall still be in Download Mode. Now it is very important to boot into TWRP mode directly, if by any chance your phone boots into the OS, the Prenormal RMM State will be set. This will force you to wait for another 7 Day period before you can actually flash anything
Hi, I tried this rooting many many many times before. It did not help to root my phones. Most Gallaxy phone are extremly protected by their manufacturers. I also tried almost all the rooting apps that exist on google play! Nothing! I'm wondering if you sell pre root phones. I googled to see if I could find rooted phones, but most people think unlocking and rooting are the same, but it isn't! Thanks
