I've released an alpha version of my screenshot widget for testing purposes. It's not feature complete, the gui got some work and there are a couple of bugs. But I wanted to get a test version out there for other eyes than my own :)

Would be glad if you tried it out and reported any fatal flaws. Both bugs and features a screenshot widget *must* have for you to be able to use it.

I've already planned for adding text, different drawing colors, possibly some JFXtras shapes, better handling of the highlight area etc.

Anyway, I'll probably check mail tomorrow (might be able to fix total showstoppers) and then I'm off to Barcelona for a week so I will probably not be doing any more programming on this until after july 21.

Pär,

That is a very cool widget!

The basic functionality works for me (snap, draw, crop, highlight, save).

Here is a list of things I noticed by playing around with it:
  • The blue highlight on the screen capture button seems to be cropped on the top-left.
  • The delay slider should resize to match the width of the widget
  • I get an exception if I crop multiple times
  • The green/red button thing is a little awkward to figure out...  it seems like selecting the tool should be enough to take an action.
  • It would be good to have an option to change the color of the drawing tool...  black blends in with just about everything.
(sorry for being picky)

Cheers,
--Steve
