I downloaded the WidgetFX SDK 1.0.4 and it seems like it's necessary
to implement this workaround:

http://steveonjava.com/2009/01/02/hacking-javafx-10-to-use-java-16-features/

before the Calendar example will compile. I didn't see that anywhere.

Now that I have it compiled, I can get it to run outside the WidgetFX
bar with "ant run", but when I try to load the jnlp I get an error:
Unable to load Widget, Widget URL is empty.

Also, is there a release planned that will support JavaFX SDK 1.1?

Thanks,

Ed

Ed,

Good catch on the Calendar example. Some 1.6 specific code slipped in,
because we all have our machines configured that way...

Keith is working on a WidgetFX 1.1 release now that is compatible with
JavaFX SDK 1.1. I'll let him answer about the specific timeframe, but
it should be very soon.

Cheers,

I went a step further and updated the Calendar example to be 1.5
compatible now. You can see the updated code on my blog:
http://steveonjava.com/2009/01/27/widgetfx-calendar-tutorial/

Keith -- can you make sure this makes the 1.1 release. (the Calendar
example is also included in the SDK download)

Hi Steve,

I checked out the source code from svn and was able to compile with
JavaFX 1.1 and JFXtras 0.3. You might want to update the wiki page to
include a link to the 1.6 configuration trick as well:

http://code.google.com/p/widgetfx/wiki/HackerGettingStarted

It would be nice if Sun allowed control of the target jre outside of
jar swapping.

Thanks,

Ed
