Briefly, the DC region is now the center of a MODERATE RISK area for severe weather, especially destructive winds and tornadoes. A tornado watch issues appears very likely in the next few hours. Storms are already forming to our west and south, and should continue to develop toward us in the next hour or so. PLEASE stay tuned to the WIDEnet and other media sources for breaking news on this dangerous and historic situation. This is the first MODERATE RISK over our area in my lifetime, and we only see a few a year over the entire country, so this could be a historic situation.
