WINTER WEATHER OUTLOOK

Summary: I've had my eyes on this system since the end of last week, but it looks like we won't see much but a bit of wet slush later Wednesday night. Another weaker disturbance coming through Friday-Saturday also looks to have minimal snow chances.

Timing: Showers and light rain may drift across the region in the morning hours, and rain picks up in the afternoon. Although a few flakes could mix in before then, we won't see any potentially accumulating snow until after dark on Wednesday. Precipitation should wrap up before daybreak Thursday.

Accumulations: I'm not expecting much in the way of serious snow with this--I'd say there is less than a 20% chance that we'll see an inch, and we are most likely to get a thin, slushy layer a few tenths thick on grass, surfaces, and possibly some sidewalks. Roadway accumulation negligible.

Impacts: Although sidewalks could be a tad slippery where the snow does stick and roads will be wet and possibly a bit slick in spots, I don't expect much to come of this event other than a slightly slower commute early Thursday morning.

Action Plan: Business as usual, although it wouldn't hurt to take it a little slower when walking or driving and allow a bit extra time for trips early Thursday morning just in case of delays.

Long Term Outlook: Although a disturbance looks to pass through the area Friday into Saturday, snow chances look pretty low at this time due to enough warm air staying in place.

UPDATE...I'll issue an update if either of these changes, but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Enjoy a bit of wet slush tomorrow--that's if there's any left by morning, anyways.
