SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK

Well, what a day! Storms popping up around 1-3PM, severe isolated storms, hail, and even a few tornadoes from 3-6PM, everything squalling out into gusty rainmakers from 6-8PM (with a few tornadoes embedded), and more rain from 8-10PM, with everything east of DC by 10:30 and east of the bay by midnight, right on schedule. I thought this one went pretty much according to plan, although things moved slightly faster and stronger than I expected earlier in the day.

By now, with just another brief spell of rain to go for DC, I feel confident issuing the ALL CLEAR for the area in terms of severe weather, although still watch out for some gusty winds and flooded roadways when driving, as we still have the flash flood situation to contend with. Tomorrow should be windy, much cooler, and quite dry, with a few clouds pushing out of the area. Enjoy the break from some of the most active weather we've seen all year!

Thanks,
C. A. M. Gerlach
