SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE - ALL CLEAR
It looks like we are all through with storms for today. Although we did see some severe thunderstorms to our west, the DC area did not see much of anything significant. This was due to the main limiting factor on storms from the onset, the cloudcover limiting how much the sun can heat the ground, and without that heat at the ground to drive storms, nothing will happen, no matter how unstable the atmosphere is. We could still see some rumbles of thunder later tonight, but the threat overall is essentially over.
Tomorrow and Friday we could see another chance for some storms, most likely in the afternoon hours peak heating, from 4-8PM. These storms have a small but present chance of producing some gusty winds and hail, so I'll let you all know if the threat does develop further, or a dangerous storm threatens our area. Otherwise, enjoy the next three (very warm) days!
